With My Boots Still On

With my machines.

Generally, I stick to my native language Kannada to express myself through poetry and in English to express through prose. This one of my few and rare attempts to write in English.

A Rider’s dream

I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight,
Where few have wandered, bold and free,
Where the roads are calling, out to me.

Goggles down, helmet on my head,
Beard beneath, and wind ahead,
Revving my bike, through dust I tread.
I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight

I want to go further, boots still worn,
To those places, where new paths are born,
Where few have ventured, unadorned.
I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight

Riding gear, not for show or pride,
Not to look slick, but survive the ride,
An old fool riding with life on his side.
I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight

I want to go further, boots still strong,
To those places that beckon me along,
Where few have been, where I belong.
I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight

Shifting gears, the roads unfold,
Steering clear of vices all untold,
Staying sober, with a heart of gold.
I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight

I want to go further, boots still sure,
To the places where the air is pure,
Where few have wandered, hearts secure.
I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight

A good man riding, by the rules I stay,
Setting the course, in my own way,
Still seen as cool, come what may.
I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight

One day I know I’ll be laid to rest,
But until then, I’ll pass life’s test,
With boots still on, and giving my best.
I want to go further, boots strapped tight,
To distant places, far from sight

And when I'm gone, they’ll softly say,
“He rode on till his final day,
To that place where we all must stay.
He went further with boots strapped tight
To a distant place & far from sight”.

This song was modified by Dhananjay Collur and made into a song.

Modified lyrics (Co-authored by Dhananjay Collur) for the video song….

I’m going on a trip with my boots strapped tight

Looking for places out of sight

Where few have wandered bold and free

The open roads are calling me

Helmet, jacket, gloves and boots

Chasing thrills trying new routes

Engine Roars Dust clouds rise
Riding’s is my passion no compromise

I really need to go on a long ride

Break on through to the other side

Don’t want stop keep going on

I made up my mind no return

Scorching sun cold rain

Hairpin bends they never end

Adrenaline rush and feeling blown

I love this feeling of being alone

I feel alive

On my bike

I wanna shout

I wanna scream

I’m living the life of a Rider’s Dream

One day I know I’ll be laid to rest,

‘til then I’ll live life with zest

Cruising thru life’s ups and downs

Laughing singing having fun

When I'm gone they’ll softly say

He rode on till his final day

To that distant place where we all go

So far away nobody knows

I feel alive

On my bike

I wanna shout

I wanna scream

I’m living the life of a Rider’s Dream

I feel alive

On my bike

I wanna shout

I wanna scream

I’m living the life of a Rider’s Dream
