PC: Google A relative of mine, a young gentleman, whom we all in the family admire is multitalented, a polyglot for sure and he faced a medical crisis recently. Though similar to my own story, he has articulated it well and spoken many of my thoughts and in a better manner. While, my blog dealt with my “Experiences”, he has spoken about the “Lessons learnt” from the experiences. I  know that I am  treading on sensitive grounds with multiple fault lines and deep crevasses. This is a sensitive subject and rightfully so.  It is playing around with strong belief and devotions and not to be taken lightly.  There is this group who are alleged to have knowingly or unknowingly allowed adulterated ghee to be used to make the famous Thirumala Thirupati deva Prasadam - the Laddu. There is that other group which is talking of Sanathana dharma or the eternal faith being either sabotaged or compromised or defiled or    purposely undermined.  While I do not want to sit on judgement on the facts of the matter as I have my own set of beliefs (and hence can be biased), I also  love Prasadam (be it at Thirupati, Sabari malai, Palani, or the prasad given at Mata Vaishno Devi or at Sri Harmandir sahib - Some how more inclined to South Indian temple Prasadam of Puliyogre, kadambam, dadhiyodhanam etc.) I was just reminiscing of a saying about S...

Many of us have heard of the famous anecdote about the fused bulbs. A fused bulb is a “fused bulb”, it doesn’t matter as to what wattage it was earlier. Meaning what we were earlier and  what was our pecking order in the society, does not matter once you loose that position or status in the society and you are just an other old man! This made me think, more particularly at an age that I am, about becoming a fused bulb one day and that it is inevitable. While in my younger days, climbing up the corporate ladder and equating that to the social order was important. Do I now see futility in that exercise? Were all those attempts at conquering the corporate peaks in vain? All those success or a sense of achievements are a mere illusions of the society that I was trapped in? These were some of those questions that popped into my mind as I was finishing a hectic one month corporate business trip spanning Americas and the Europe and was sitting idly in the aircraft, savouring the hospitali...

  A traditional “Graduation Cap” My Son graduated in his Masters (2023) had his graduation ceremony at Aachen, Germany in September 2024. He had done his Undergrad earlier and was in the class of 2020 and that being a COVID year, there was no such an event at Purdue University that year.  We have had the privilege of watching the graduation ceremonies of our daughter, one from Christ university and later another from Azim Premji University as a part of her undergrad and masters study completion.  The traditional tossing of the cap Each of these, were a moment to cherish for them as they “Walked, wore the cap, tossed in tradition”.
