Wandering Light
Travel forth we, on a path unknown.
That path strewn with rocks and thorns
That path traversing with all its ups and downs
That walk in the darkness and all alone
From an unknown place and to a place unknown
Travel forth we, on a path unknown.
Lest that I falter, fall into a stupor
Need a beam, a flickering flame
or torch to light that path,
to show and say
Onward you go on your way
Move with me, my fellow traveller
Nay a sound nor a whisper
With all its silence as my partner
From an unknown place and to a place unknown
Travel forth we, on a path unknown.
Let the light not be downed
Let that lamp not be drowned
Let the torch not scorch that path
In that gale I protect you sure
For its me and my selfish more
Be my guard and be my shadow
From an unknown place and to a place unknown
Travel forth we, on a path unknown.
